2 Day Class – March 5-6, 2026
After successfully designing Sullivan, and Jarvis, I was inspired to embark on the creation of Kailani, a captivating sea turtle. The conception of Kailani was years in the making, until I saw an image that set me on the right design path. Kailani means “sun and sea” in Hawaiian, so I decided to base my color palette on the lively colors of the tropics .
Kailani will be woven with Jessica, Sprats Heads, Rhodes, Walnetos and Crescent stitches, stitched with a palette of vibrant threads in teal, coral, green, blues, and pink hues. Capturing the essence of a sea turtle allure, I plan to incorporate sparkles and an array of threads, snail ribbon, and rick rack ribbon to provide a base and sea grass for Kailani to rest in. Canvas provided will be large enough for Kailani to be orientated vertically, or on a slight angle.

Design size: 10″ x 9″
Kit Contents/Cost: $225. Your kit will include a 16” x 16” 18 count White/silver canvas, threads from Rainbow Gallery, Kreinik and Accentuate, crystals, needles and instructions necessary to complete the project.
Stitcher to provide:
16”x 16” stretcher bars and tacks or staples to attach the canvas to stretcher bars. Highlighter and usual stitching supplies including light, laying tool, frame stand or weight, magnifier and extension cord if needed.
